Out we went on a cheeky cycling jaunt, looking for discarded monetary amounts. A nice way to spend a pleasant Saturday, out enjoying the sun (which finally showed itself).
We headed up to the previously visited rich ground, up by walls roundabout. Nothing was found on the way there, but as soon as we hit the slip road by Storage Kings, Tiff scooped up our first coin, a nice shiny 10p. From there it was coin after coin – on Storage Kings car park, I found 6 pennies, two 2p’s, two 5’s, one 20p and three 1 Euro Cents. Tiff found three 5’s and one 2p there.
Further up the slip road, Tiff collected a further 2p and another penny and I grabbed another 2p.
Leaving the rich grounds we headed up Eastern Avenue in search of further success. It didn’t take too long to come as we cycled around McDonalds and in the car park, what looked initially like a potential Gold sovereign ring, actually turned out to be a very shiny pound coin. LUSH !
From there we hit another slip round along Eastern Avenue and at a crossing, Tiff collected 2 more pennies and I another 5p.
Overall, we banked £1.79. Quality.
Short but sweet post tonight. Found a lovely obvious pound coin on the side of the football pitch at Brockworth Sports Centre.
That made for a lovely evening’s football, fresh in the knowledge that that circular piece of win was resting in my pocket.
Another first Friday of the month, another Strollers meet up. So off I went to Weatherspoons at the Gloucester Quays.
I meet up with my fellow Strollers and we head to a table to sit down, naturally, I’m checking for money (CFM) on the way. Anyhow, we sit down and my eyes still peruse the vicinity. Behind me, underneath a table by the table leg I thought I saw a coin, and to me it looked like it could have been a quid.
For over an hour I was torn as there were loads of people around that table and I wasn’t 100% sure it was a coin. Could have been a gum !
Anyhow, nearing the hour and a half mark, my opportunity came and I lunged quickly for the object when 3 of the people standing there went to the bar. It was a pound. WIN !
Leaving the pub and going back to the car, I also found a penny in the shopping area. Bonus.
